Dockery Park Board members resign

The four remaining members of the Dockery Park Board — Carrie Holcomb, Brad Everett, Becky Butler and Rachel Hauser — submitted their resignations on Nov. 9, according to Gallatin City Administrator Zac Johnson.

Too few members doing too much work provoked the park board to write the city a letter of resignation and turn over the keys, Johnson said.

    Maybe the requirement to be a “resident” of the City of Gallatin should be revisited. I know that when I expressed interest in serving on the park board, I was denied due to the fact that I don’t reside within the city limits. There are lots of families who live outside the city limits whose children participate in activities held there who just might be willing to step up.

    Just a thought.
