BETHANY, MO — Students from four area high schools are getting practical experience in the growing field of professional childcare as part of a new course that is being offered for the first time at North Central Career Center. The students work with pre-school children two days a week at the Puppy Pound School at the career center. The course is designed to prepare the students for possible careers in nursery schools, preschools, day care centers and several other childcare fields. Seven students are enrolled, coming from Cainsville, Ridgeway, Pattonsburg and Bethany. Janice Rose, who retired last spring as the home economics teacher at South Harrison R-2 High School in Bethany, serves as the instructor of the new course.
