Blue tongue can devastate deer herd

It looks like something gross to scare little children with on Halloween. But the eight deer heads hanging on a fence at the Grand River Whitetail Reserve are no prank. The deer have all died of hemorrhagic disease, or blue tongue virus, according to Kevin Heldenbrand, who manages the 700 acre hunting preserve.
