Good Thinking: Then came autumn

In 1576 Edmund Spenser wrote his “Faerie Queen” in which he personifies each season:

‘First came lusty Spring in all dight (dressed) in leaves of flowers…

Then came jolly Sommer, being dight in a thin silken cassock coloured green;

Then came Autumne, all in yellow clad, as though he joyed in his plenteous store, laden with fruits that made him laugh, full glad that he had
