Ronda Pash named warden at MWCC

CAMERON, MO — Ronda Pash of Bethany, MO, has been named warden of Missouri Western Correctional Center. Pash is a 1981 graduate of Cainsville R-1 School and has over 23 years of service, first as a social worker specialist at the state penitentiary in Potosi, Mo. She has worked with death row inmates and with prisoners serving life sentences. She served as deputy warden at the Maryville Treatment Center from

Lee Robertson 1934-2012

Lee Robertson, 78, of Liberty, formerly of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness. Services was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church, Building Fund, in care of McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin.

Poker Run slated for Saturday, Sept. 1

New conservation area opens near Plattsburg

PLATTSBURG, MO — McGee Family Conservation Area will open for public use on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, providing additional hunting, fishing and hiking opportunities in Northwest Missouri. The almost 1,000-acre upland area is south of Plattsburg and can be accessed off Route C or County Road 240. In the area’s northeast corner there is frontage on both sides of the Little Platte River.

GHS Lady Bulldog softball

Lady Bulldogs pull 10-run rule on Albany Tourney field

Gallatin’s Lady Bulldogs dominated the field at Saturday’s Albany Softball Tournament, outscoring opponents, 31-1, to win the championship in impressive fashion.

The Lady Bulldogs previewed things to come by whipping Princeton, 11-1, in five innings in the opener. Sara Lin tossed a four-hitter to get the win, striking out five batters and walking none.

Ice cream cones at the GHS ball game

Gallatin Rotary Club will be selling ice cream cones at Friday’s home football game at Gallatin High School beginning at 6 p.m. All proceeds will help this civic organization fund community service projects. Rotarians urge you to come out and support the Bulldogs against arch rival Hamilton and enjoy some ice cream.

Election recount denied; appeal pending

PLATTSBURG, MO — Judge Daren Adkins dismissed a petition for a primary election recount determining Clinton County 1st Commissioner on the Democrat ballot during a hearing conducted Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012.
