In May, MDC brought 35 elk from Kentucky and placed them in holding pens at Peck Ranch CA. Since then, 11 of the elk cows have produced

Poosey Digest: Turtle troubles

Greetings from Poosey.

Perhaps you’ve experienced the shock…a couple whom you’ve known for years, who seemed the model of a happy marriage, who’ve maybe even raised children, then one day…poof. They split.

Although I’d never known these two personally, their story touched my heart and I had to investigate: Bibi and Poldi, two giant turtles in an Austrian Zoo, lived together for over 115 years when suddenly one day

Letters to the Editor: Questions about cemetery upkeep

Dear Editor:

You may remember me from my visit to your office in May 2008 when I left a CD with you of material I had collected about families of Gallatin and Daviess County, where both my parents were born and raised (George William Prichard and Mary Elizabeth Love). I hope your spring is as glorious as the one we are enjoying here in Colorado.
