Pattonsburg school, community join to build ramp for Sofia Nunn

Sofia Nunn, a Pattonsburg elementary student with cerebral palsy, can now get to and from her house to a vehicle with much more ease thanks to an access ramp built by her classmates and a group of local volunteers. Sofia’s ramp was a Join Hands Day project of the McFall Modern Woodmen Junior Service Club, the Pattonsburg FFA Chapter and the Liberty Baptist Church.

Sheriff’s Office

Jeremiah L. Burnett, 29, Hamilton, was arrested by troopers in Cameron on May 22, after a report to the Daviess County sheriff’s office about a male subject observed on property owned by Larry Baldwin on 110th Street in Daviess County. The subject, Burnett, left the property in a red mini van before the deputy’s arrival and crossed into Caldwell County with the landowner following him.

Carder Michael Kreatz b. May 20, 2012

Justin and Brook Kreatz are proud to announce the birth of their first child, Carder Michael Kreatz. He was born at 5:56 a.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. He weighed six pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19 ½ inches long. The Kreatz family reside in Chillicothe.

Ayden Wayne wins state essay contest

During an elementary awards assembly held earlier at Searcy Elementary, fifth grader Ayden Wayne was recognized by Nancy Salmon, Daughters of the American Revolution historian, for a winning essay.

Dean and Violet Merrigan celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Dean and Violet (Smith) Merrigan of Coffey will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2012.

They were married on that date in 1952 at St. Munchin’s Catholic Church in Cameron.
