Martin-Herman engagement announced

Mr. and Mrs. Don Uthe and Kathy Drodge proudly announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son and daughter, Dustin Martin and Kayleen Nicole Herman.

Dustin is a 1992 graduate of Winston High School and 1998 graduate of Central Missouri State University and is currently employed at the Ford Plant in Claycomo. Kayleen is a 2000 graduate of Olathe East High School and 2004 graduate of Kansas State University

Births – Reid Jensen Denning

Ahna Denning is proud to announce the birth of her new baby brother, Reid Jensen Denning. Reid arrived to Liberty Hospital at 8:03 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011.

He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Jail board hears audit report, 11 discrepancies noted

Steven Grant, CPA, presented the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail Board with his audit report, on Sept. 27. The independent audit had been requested by the administration and board. Grant audited the basic financial statements of the jail as of and for the year ended Dec. 31, 2010.

Farm Bureau holds customer appreciation and annual meeting

Daviess County Farm Bureau customer appreciation and annual meeting is Friday, Sept. 30, at the Gallatin Lions Club building, 801 West Grant Street, Gallatin.

Pork sandwich, chips, dessert and drink will be served during customer appreciation from 11:30 to 1:30.

More “trash talk” from city hall

Gallatin Board of Aldermen heard that Sept 24, Rapid Removal had placed trash containers at all residential properties within the city limits.

These containers were provided by the trash service; the city did not purchase them. Residents may use containers of their own for additional trash. If residents did not receive a container or if they have any questions, please call city hall at 663-2011.
