Startling statistics show a fourth of county’s children struggle with hunger

Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization, has recently released a study that indicates hunger exists everywhere in America, rural and urban, and Daviess County is no exception.

According to "Map the Meal Gap" data provided by the organization, in Daviess County 2,180 members of the population fall under 18 years of age. Of those children 27.3% or 600 are considered to be food insecure.
