Winston offers contracts, discuss revenues

Eric Lewis was offered a two year contract as Winston R-6 high school principal by the board of education at a meeting held Feb. 17.

Abby Smith, elementary principal, is currently under contract until June 30, 2012, so no board action was necessary for the next school year.

The Winston R-6 MSIP Review was conducted on Jan. 25. The Missouri Department of Education has not released the official review report

Mat Monsters travel to Plattsburg

On Feb. 20, 15 members of the Mat Monsters Youth Wrestling team participated in the Plattsburg Tiger Wrestling USA tournament in Plattsburg.

Gallatin 4-H to hold lock-in for grades six and up

All area 4-H students grades six and up are invited to attend a 4-H Lock-In on Friday, Feb 25, at the Chillicothe YMCA.

The evening will begin at 11 p.m. Friday night and end at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning. Youth will participate in games, activities, swimming, and much more.

Youth who are not currently members of 4-H but wish to join may also attend. We will have sign up

Homecoming this Saturday at North Daviess

Homecoming for North Daviess will be held Saturday, Feb. 26.

Coronation will begin at 7 p.m. with the dance to follow. The homecoming game was held on Feb. 21. Proceeds from a silent auction and raffle held during the game benefitted the senior class.

The financial statement was presented by Becky Morris during the regular meeting of the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education held Feb. 14.

Youth wrestlers to Plattsburg

The Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club traveled to Plattsburg last Sunday, February 20 to compete in the 1st Annual Tigerfest Tournament.

There were 260 wrestlers at the meet, a group of wrestlers even flew in from Arkansas for the event. The Gallatin club took twelve wrestlers and came home with: four first place medals, five second place medals and three third place medals. The club had a total of thirty-four wins

Tri-County school allocates funds for computers, selects support

The Tri-County Board of Education allocated $7,500 for the purchase of computers for the high school at their monthly meeting for February.

The board also accepted a proposal from Quality Network Systems of Macon for computer technology support. The superintendent was directed to work out details for QNS to review the present technology and give recommendations for improvements.

FCCLA sponsors blood drive at Gallatin school

Gallatin High School will host a community blood drive between 2-6 p.m. in the commons area of the Gallatin High School on Friday, March 4.

Sixteen-year-olds are eligible to donate blood with parental consent. Photo identification and proof of age is required for all donors.

Stanberry rallies to beat GHS boys; Rock Port awaits in district
