Daviess County Courthouse News (1-26-2011) – Firearms, jewelry stolen from home of suspect’s grandfather in Jamesport

Three Kansas women were arrested Jan. 23 on several felony firearm offenses. The arrests occurred during a traffic stop on U.S. 69 for failure to dim headlights.

Local VFW Post recognized for 100% membership

Richard L. Eubank, commander-in-chief, recently congratulated local VFW Commander Ray Clevenger on having achieved the distinct honor of leading his Post to over 100% in membership for the 2010-2011 year.

This was the second year in a row the Post has achieved the honor.

The District is composed of 13 chapters. The local chapter, VFW Post 2172, has 67 members. Between 25-30 are active members.

Cost-share sign up begins Feb. 1

Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District state cost-share sign up begins Tuesday, Feb. 1 though Monday, Feb. 28 at the USDA Service Center in Gallatin.

Meinecke wins CD player from AARC

The Active Aging Resource Center (AARC) held a drawing for a CD player for all Medicare clients that had a prescription drug plan (Part D) comparison completed by the Center. The winner was Bob Meinecke from Trenton.

Bob had his comparison done in conjunction with the monthly AARC visit at the North 65 Center in Trenton.

Deanna Lewis, administrator, and Vera Nelson, consultant at the AARC, completed over 400 comparisons

Factory building fate still up in the air

The lease agreement on the factory building to K-Bar Inc. was accepted as of Jan. 1 by the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen, but the lease has not been signed and the building remains unoccupied.
