Mary Immaculate receives gift that is ever green

Mary Immaculate Church, located on South Main in Gallatin, received a gift of trees from the Cole Osborn family of Bethany on Dec. 27.

There were 38 white pine; 12 clump birch; two flowering crab apple; and three miniature lace leaf maples. Most of the trees were planted in the lot behind the church, a few were planted between the buildings. Ten members of Mary Immaculate helped plant the trees,

Suit by Parker against 9-1-1 dismissed, details at tomorrow’s meeting

A petition for damages filed Feb. 19 in the Circuit Court of Daviess County by Jacklyn L. Parker against the 9-1-1 supervisor and board has been dismissed with prejudice, according to the court docket from the 43rd Judicial Circuit Court of Daviess County.

Dana Carder is the 9-1-1 supervisor. Board members are Larry Belshe, John Sullenger, Gene Walker, Mark Richards, Daniel Skinner, Alan Bradford and Jerry Urton.

Sue Bird retires after 32 years in courthouse

Sue Bird has served as Daviess County Circuit Clerk for the last four years and has worked in the court system since 1979. She will retire at the end of this year after 32 years working in the courthouse. The retirement celebration will be held from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, on the third floor of the Daviess County Courthouse. The public is invited to attend

New names added to “soldiers wall of honor”

Several new names have been added to the Daviess County Recorder’s Office display recognizing servicemen and servicewomen from Daviess County or relatives of local families.

The names are: Marcus Lacy, Shadow Phillips, Ryan Hicks, Nicholas Rogers, Ricky Baldwin and Matt Wallace.
