Daviess County Nursing and Rehab

Hello. We would like to tell everyone what a wonderful time the residents and staff had this past Friday at our holiday dinner.

We would like to express appreciation to everyone who attended.

This week we will be having our residents birthday party at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 26.

We will be doing crafts at 10 a.m. on Nov. 30. Bingo store will be open for our residents at 1:30

Brian Holcomb promoted in gaming division

Corporal Brian D. Holcomb has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and will remain in his current assignment of background investigator in the Gaming Division.

Holcomb was appointed to the Patrol on Jan. 1, 1995, as a member of the 69th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 1, Atchison County. He transferred to the Gaming Division in 1999,

Red Cross mail for heroes

For a fourth year, the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc. are teaming up to deliver holiday cards to service members, their families and veterans, many of whom will be far from home this holiday season.

The Holiday Mail for Heroes program provides Americans with the opportunity to send holiday greetings and a note of thanks to our men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. Before Dec. 10,

Sunday visitors of Martha Huff were Matt and Renee Huff, Landon and Perry, Dannie Claycomb, Stewartsville, Rick Huff, Gary Huff and some of his friends.

Visiting this week with Mildred Huff were Mary Frazier and Roy Hancock. Roy was celebrating his birthday.

Danny Mason spent Sunday with his mother, Beverly Mason.

NCMC karate students recognized

Each semester, two North Central Missouri College students are recognized for outstanding spirit and dedication during their karate training at NCMC in Trenton. This semester’s award winners are Mary Warner of Gallatin and Taylor Wright of Princeton. Also pictured at left is Scott Keith, karate instructor. Karate class offers one hour of college credit in physical education.

Artillerymen and wives honored at Truman Chapter event

The 129th Field Artillery Battalion gathered recently at the Maryville Community Center to honor past and present artillerymen and their wives at the 23rd Annual Dining Out of the Harry S. Truman Chapter of the U.S. Field Artillery Association.

The Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher honor was presented to five spouses of artillerymen, each receiving a gold necklace signifying her service. These women were recognized for their spirit and sacrifice

Barbara L. Wilson
