Graze alfalfa after hard freeze

The key to maintaining long stands is proper fall cutting management. If alfalfa is harvested during mid September through October while temperatures are warm, it will try to regrow. Alfalfa will draw from its root reserves for growth and the plant will use its energy reserves that should be used for winter storage.
