Carders celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carder of Gallatin will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 5. Mrs. Carder is the former Sherry Lee McCrary. They were married at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin by Rev. Orval Hammon on Aug. 5, 1960.

They are the parents of four children, Tamera and Gary James of Gallatin; Timothy and Dana Carder of Gallatin; Tania and Kelly Beck of Gallatin; and Titus

Jamesport livestock show coming soon

Jamesport Junior Livestock Show and Fair is set for July 29, 30 and 31 at the city park. There will be livestock exhibits, baby show, FFA barbecue, parade, children’s games, pet show, and ice cream supper.

Everyone is invited to attend the fair and support the FFA members, 4-H members, the fair borad and Lions club.

Dear Editor: I would like to comment on the article in last week’s paper regarding Access II purchasing the building in the business park.

Dear Editor: Access II has plans to develop new programs and grow the services provided to our consumers. The new location and acreage will allow us to do this. We are planning to host many outdoor community activities, have community meeting rooms, raised garden beds, and are researching additional programs to implement.

Access II receives an Independent Living State Grant each year which amounts to 16.5% of our annual operating

Letter to the Editor – Jamie Lowrey regarding Premium Standard Farms

Dear Editor: In the past week, Premium Standard Farms (PSF) filed an aggressive two-year schedule with the Jackson County Circuit Court to implement Next Generation Technology the Expert Panel approved in May. I am asking community members to send letters to Governor Jay Nixon and Attorney General Chris Koster requesting their support of PSF’s schedule and to extend the Consent Decree.
