The GHS FCCLA awards and installation ceremony was held on April 20. President Levi Michener started the ceremony by giving a welcoming speech. Abbi Porter started with the STAR Events awards and recognition.

Gallatin High School will hold a band concert and art show on Wednesday, May 5, in the high school gym. Art students will have their work on display between 6-7 p.m.
Drumline and flag corp will perform before the band. The band performs at 7. State solos and ensembles will be featured.
A dessert bar will follow the concert.

The Trojanettes 12 and under softball team played at the Sandlot Classic at Adair Park in Independence on April 17-18, finishing with a 2-4 record over the two days of competition.

Gallatin varsity track athletes travel to South Harrison on Thursday for a final tune up before the Grand River Conference meet to be held next Monday at Albany. The meet was originally scheduled for South Harrison High School but the venue was changed last week.
The Bulldogs will head to Richmond on May 8 for the Class 2, District 8 meet.

North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates basketball coach Jenni Croy has set dates for three summer camps for area junior high and high school girls.
The camp for individuals will be held June 13-15 and is an overnight/commuter camp for girls in grades 5-8. It will focus on fundamentals, as well as team concepts.
A high school team camp will be held June 9-10 and a junior high team camp

Last weekend’s cold rainy weather put a damper on many outdoor activities. Gallatin coach Barron Gann can relate from a golf standpoint for the Bulldogs, who were outside Monday afternoon and last Friday.

Members of the Gallatin R-5 Future Business Leaders of America Chapter recently attended the 2010 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held April 18-20 in Columbia.
The Parliamentary Procedures team of Jamie Brinnen, Carly Boyd, Kaymon Witt, Breanne Brammer and Bethany Harris received first place in the state FBLA contest.
Others winning recognition at the state conference were: Ashley Owens, sixth place in Public Speaking II; Alex Richards and Savannah Butcher, fifth

The Gallatin High School Academic Team captured second place at the 2010 All District Academic meet held at Penney High School on April 17. All-District honors went to Michael Youd, who was All-District high scorer, and Palmer Turley, who was All-District sixth-highest scorer. Gallatin team members were, left to right: Dillon Axon, Michael Youd, Palmer Turley and Chad Robertston. Glenda St. John is the R-5 academic team sponsor.

Rachel Hopkins, Pattonsburg, daughter of Monte and Dana Hoover and Craige and Tracy Hopkins, and Keshia Youtsey, Winston, daughter of Chip and Karla Youtsey and Tricia Smyser, were recently named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State Basketball team.
They were recognized for their efforts at a banquet on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia, on April 18.
