Library files financial statement

The 2009 financial statement for the Daviess County Library was approved at the March 2010 board meeting.

State law, Section 105.145 RSMo and 15 CSR 40-3.030, requires the filing of a financial report with the State Auditor’s Office each year. This statement is posted at both the Gallatin and Jamesport Branch Library, and copies are available to the public.

Jail renews insurance contract

Jennifer Rico, RN, director of business development with Health Professionals Ltd., (HPL) talked about insurance options with the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail during their regular meeting held March 26, 2010.

The board carried a motion to retain the current contract which was up for renewal. The contract gives the jail one million dollars of coverage with a return on the unused portion of the first $20,000. The contract saw a 3.21%

Lager, Guernsey welcome Daviess County students

Sen. Brad Lager and State Rep. Casey Guernsey welcomed students from Daviess County for this year’s Farm Bureau Youth Leadership Day in Jefferson City.

During their visit, students toured the Capitol and were introduced by Lager from the floor of the Senate Chamber. Farm Bureau sponsors this annual event as a way for youth farm leaders to meet with legislators and learn more about the workings of state government. Keith

Susan Ann Aulgur 1930-2010

Susan Ann Aulgur 79 of Gallatin passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the United Methodist Church in Gallatin. The family will be receiving friends and guests at their home in Gallatin. Friends may also call after 12 noon Sunday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Bobby Zimmer 1963-2010

Bobby Zimmer, age 46, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away on March 26, 2010, at Hedrick Medical Center. He was born the son of Henry Zimmer and Betty Zimmer at Axtell Hospital in Princeton, Mo., on May 8, 1963.

Bob was a devoted and loving father for 12 ½ years to daughter Bobbi Jo.

Mark and Brandy Gadberry of Gallatin would like to announce the birth of their son, Justin Gadberry. He was born at 5:42 p.m. on March 24, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Coffey Fire Department receives fire truck

The Coffey Fire Department has received a 1988 Pierce Dash Fire Truck, according to Fire Chief Mike Youngs.

It was delivered last Saturday from Johns Mid-America out of Rogersville. The truck is an update from a 1971 International. The truck holds 755 gallons. It has a five man cab and is equipped with two new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) seats and has compartments for four more.

Trey and Ashley Newberry, Gallatin, proudly announce the birth of a daughter, Emma Belle Newberry, born at 4:34 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Emma weighed 6 pounds and was 18 inches long.

Jon and Abbey Eivins would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Emily Marie Eivins. Emily was born at 2:56 on March 12, 2010. She weighed 9 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 21.5 inches long.
