Three more filings yesterday

Yesterday was the last day of filing for the Aug. 3 Primary election. Three local candidates waited until the deadline to throw their hats into the ring. Filing closed yesterday (Tuesday) at 4:30 p.m.

Republican David Holcomb of Coffey filed yesterday and will face incumbent Democrat Georgia Maxwell for the office of Recorder of Deeds.

A race for prosecuting attorney materialized with both candidates filing yesterday. Incumbent Democrat Annie Gibson

Arrests made in string of burglaries

Arrests have been made in a multi-jurisdictional investigation of a burglary ring centered in the Pattonsburg area. The arrests were made following a check of a residence at 706 Oak Street in Pattonsburg.

On March 14, the Gallatin Police Department requested warrants for Arlington E. Davis, 42, Pattonsburg, Jeremy A. Knight, 22, Bethany, and Joshua D. McCartney, 25, McFall, for burglaries at Breadeaux Pizza and The Water Wizard Car Wash

Wright Memorial Hospital kicks off its Families in Training program

Wright Memorial Hospital’s Families in Training program (FIT) starts Monday, May 17. The six-week program offers families the chance to talk with medical experts about health issues and participate in a self-paced walk/run.

Tree Climbers taking orders for history book, planning next project

Book orders are coming in to the Tree Climbers.

The history book is at the printers. Plans are underway for the next project, which will be pictures and histories of the houses in the old town before the move. Not sure what all will be included at this time.
