Pattonsburg aldermen raise rates for trash, water

Due to the latest increase by Veolia Trash Service, the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen voted during their recent meetings to raise the trash rates from $11.15 to $12.50 per individual household.

The board voted to raise water rates by a factor of 10% to reflect the increase of cost of production.

This increase is for Public Water Supply District No. 1 and the residents of the city and will show

Wind energy and carbon sequestration meeting

Landowners and growers will want to attend the Wind Energy and Carbon Sequestration meeting to be held on Feb. 8 with check-in at 9:30 a.m. and meeting promptly starting at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at the TJ Hall Building in Oregon.

Studying last fall’s yield monitor data

Last fall we watched the combine’s yield monitor jump as we moved across the field hitting record corn yields. However, these high readings may not be a true picture of corn yield.
