Gallatin Police receive grant to purchase equipment

The Gallatin Police Department has been approved for $6,233.27 in grant funding through The Local Law Enforcement Block Grant/JAG (LLEBG/JAG) Program. The funds will be used to replace emergency equipment in the city’s police vehicles such as light bars, sirens and flashlights.

Community Action to host baking workshop

Green Hills Community Action Agency will host a Holiday Baking on a Budget & Taking the Stress Out of the Holidays workshop Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Adventist Center, 1207 S. Clay St., in Gallatin. The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

City looks at changes to water plant to keep it running

City Administrator Zac Johnson and Jason Mercer, water plant operator, met with Doug Schulte of Snyder & Associates during the regular meeting for the City of Gallatin held Nov. 23. The meeting was in regards to changes Mr. Mercer wants to make at the existing water plant to keep it running for the next two years until a new plant would come online.

Marilyn R. Hemry 1949-2009

Marilyn Hemry, 60 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, Nov.20, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the First Christian Church in Gallatin. Family visitation was held Monday evening, Nov. 23, at the church. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery, near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Gallatin or the American Cancer Society, in care of McWilliams
