Helen Byrd 1947-2009

Graveside services for Helen Byrd were held Saturday, July 25, at the Old Town Cemetery near Pattonsburg. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin.

Helen Byrd, 61, Bethany, formerly of Pattonsburg, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Winston blood drive Aug. 7

Last year, 28,000 individuals in our area needed a blood transfusion. This year, the local needs for blood are expected to rise.

Gators win championship in Tri-County tourney

The Hamilton Gators placed second in the league tournament in Gallatin, which advanced them to the regional tournament in Polo. The Gators came into the regional tournament as #5 seed in the single game elimination. Hamilton beat Lawson to advance to the semi-finals. Dalton Stith pitched a no-hitter to knock off #1 seed Richmond, 16-0. TC East pitched a shutout to beat #2 seed Gallatin for the championship. Pictured, left
