Public TV to feature documentary on the press

Public television stations in Missouri and Illinois will show the Missouri Press Foundation’s video "Trustees for the Public: 200 Years of Missouri Newspapers."

The Missouri Press Association and its 300 member newspapers celebrate the rich heritage of Missouri journalists in this one-hour documentary video. The schedule is KCPT, Kansas City, 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15.

Farm Management Workshop for Women

University of Missouri Extension is offering an evening farm management workshop, Annie’s Project, beginning Feb. 2 in St. Joseph.

The course is targeted towards farm women, women landowners, and new farmers. The course includes six evening classes (Feb. 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, and 18). The location will be the Buchanan County Extension Center, 4125 Mitchell Avenue, St. Joseph.

SWCD cost-share sign up begins Feb. 2

Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District state cost-share sign up begins Monday, Feb. 2 and ends Wednesday, March 11.

This is a one time sign up for the year. Funds will become available after July 1, and continue through June 30, 2010. Practices that landowner may be interested in are Terrace Systems, Water Impoundment Reservoir, Sediment Retention, Erosion or Water Control Structures, Sod Waterways, Diversions, Forest Plantation, Woodland Protection

Bulldog Pride Band leaves for MMEA Thursday

The Gallatin Bulldog Pride Band will be performing for the Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach.
