Driver examination station closes for election

On Nov. 4, the Gallatin Driver Examination Station will be closed due to the election.

The Chillicothe Driver Examination Station will serve as the alternate site for driver testing for persons from the Gallatin area. The Chillicothe DE Station is located at 715 Washington Street. The testing hours in Chillicothe will be 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Normal testing hours at the Gallatin site

Jamesport area blood drive on Nov. 4

Community Blood Center, the provider of blood services to local hospitals, will be conducting a blood drive from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Jamesport School in the old gym, 904 W. Auberry Grove, to help the local hospital patients in our area that depend on life saving blood donations.

One Head Start goal is oral health

The Green Hills Head Start Program, sponsored by North Central Missouri College of Trenton, provides service to families and children in the nine-county Green Hills Area.

One of the goals of Head Start is to improve the oral health of children and their families. The major oral disease of preschool children is dental cavities. Dental cavities can begin to develop soon after a primary (baby) tooth erupts into the mouth

Local business professional attends meeting

Jerry Frost of Frost Insurance Agency recently attended a training session on Property/Casualty Insurance hosted by Barton Mutual Group of Liberal.

Attendees received continuing education hours awarded by the Missouri Department of Insurance. Training included instruction on new product offerings, service enhancements, and company and industry trends.

Over 350 independent agents attended one of the regional meetings throughout the state.

Elks Mobile Dental Unit to be in Albany

The Elks Mobile Dental Unit is now in its 46th year of providing dental services to deserving residents of Missouri.

The unit is scheduled to visit Albany from Monday, Nov. 10, to Thursday, Nov. 20, and will be located at Albany Regional Center, 13th and Maple. Individuals eligible for free dental care while the unit is in Albany and live in the counties of Atchison, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry,

Rex Garr

Memorial services for Rex Garr will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Community of Christ, Cameron. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service, at the church. Inurnment will be at Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron. Mr. Garr has been cremated under the direction of Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Mass of Christian burial for Edward McMahon was held Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bethany. Burial location is pending. Arrangements were by Bethany Memorial Chapel, Bethany. Travis Girratono

A funeral service for Travis Girratono was held Monday at the First Baptist Church, Gilman City, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Gilman City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Travis Girratono Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of BTC Bank, P.O. Box 98, Albany, Mo., 64402.
