Tracy Parton to fill Pattonsburg R-2 board vacancy

After returning from executive session of their regular meeting held Oct. 20, the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education appointed Tracy Parton to fill the school board vacancy.

Pattonsburg HS blood drive on Nov. 7

Community Blood Center, the provider of blood services to local hospitals, will be conducting a blood drive from 2-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Pattonsburg High School in the cafeteria, #1 Panther Drive.

The blood drive is sponsored by the NHS and FFA to help the local hospital patients in our area that depend on life saving blood donations.

Ray and Karen Kuykendall attended an eight day church conference at Branson, returning home October 21. They met several friends and family from several states. Around 1,500 folks were in attendance with lots of good sermons and singing.

Criminal enforcement operation results

On October 19 and 20, 2008, Troop H officers conducted a two-day criminal enforcement operation on Interstate 35, to focus on the criminal element that utilizes the interstate system.

Four troopers were assigned to the detail that was conducted in Daviess County.
Troopers issued two summonses for speeding, one for a child restraint violation and one non-moving violation. In addition, troopers wrote 87 warnings to motorists for various violations.
