Gracie Sue Rindom

Casey and Alissa Rindom proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Gracie Sue Rindom, born at 8:37 p.m. on Aug. 7, at Liberty Hospital. Gracie weighed 7 pounds and was 19 inches long.

Harrison Blackburn

Shannon and Lainie Blackburn of Liberty proudly announce the arrival of their son Hank Harrison Blackburn born June 10, 2008.

Hank weighed 6 pounds 6ounces and was 18 inches long. Hank is the grandson of Robbie and Barbara Harris and Penne and Robert Blackburn of Liberty. He is the great-grandson of Patsy Harris Wrex and Mary Lou Searcy and the great-great-grandson of Ina Jones, all of Gallatin.

Five generations come together

Five generations came together in Gallatin this past month. Making up the family portrait are 96 year old Ina Jones, Lake Viking Healthcare Center, who poses with her great-great grandson, Hank Harrison Blackburn (born June 10, 2008), her daughter, Patsy Harris-Wrex of Gallatin, grandson Robbie Harris of Liberty, and great granddaughter Lainie Blackburn of Liberty.

Michaels celebrate 40th anniversary

Douglas and Angel Michael, Stuart and Rebekah Reece and Alex and Sarah Mayo would like to invite family and friends to a 40th anniversary celebration for their parents, David and Kayla Michael, at their home at 27845 Lilac Ave., Gallatin.

Flag football season at park starts soon, ribbon cutting date set

Fall sports were discussed during the regular meeting of the Gallatin Park Board held Thursday, Aug. 21.

Flag football season is from Sept. 27 through Oct. 25 and will be open to children four-years-old through sixth grade. Registration is due Sept. 10.

Smooooooooooooth!

New asphalt paving on Gallatin’s streets surrounding the Daviess County Courthouse was completed this week
by Herzog Contracting, St. Joseph.

The $75,000 project was long overdue. The old street decking had to be
milled off before the fresh new layer of paving was applied. This is in addition to the recent resurfacing of Highway 13 from the Highway 6 junction toward the square by the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Charles W. Charles Kibbe, Sr.

Funeral services for Charles Kibbe, Sr., were held Monday at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph.

(Chuck) Kibbe Sr., 80, St. Joseph, died Aug. 21, 2008, at a North Kansas City Hospital.
Mr. Kibbe was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
