2008 Softball: Lady Bulldogs win 5-3 and 15-0 to open 2008 softball season

Gallatin softball girls took a non-conference homestand Monday and Tuesday to open the 2008 season at 2-0.

Maggie Strange doubled and singled twice and drove in three runs to help the Lady Bulldogs to a 5-3 victory over Trenton in Monday’s opener.

Daviess County Courthouse News (8-27-08): Savings from jail allows lowering of county’s tax levy

The courthouse will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, to observe the Labor Day holiday.

At 3 p.m. as advertised, the public tax levy hearing was held. After discussion, Danny Heldenbrand moved to reduce the county general revenue levy by $0.2353, which is $0.05 less than 2007, due to the amount of savings created by the regional jail.
