Pattonsburg school board approves raise in base pay

The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education approved the 2008-2009 salary schedule with a $750 increase in base pay during their regular meeting held Monday, June 16.

The board accepted Mr. McCrary’s resignation as track coach.

Kati Atchison was hired as high school English teacher.

Mrs. Brady, though not in attendance, submitted a written report to the board on summer school which ended June 10. Daily attendance averaged 46 students.

PuppetFest MidWest returns to Trenton

PuppetFest MidWest will once again be held on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton. The dates for this year’s festival are July 8-13.

A Puppet Exhibit and Puppet Shows five nights in a row are some of the highlights of this annual, independent puppetry festival. This event is funded by the Rumpelstiltskin Society, a not-for-profit corporation created to inspire, strengthen and renew commitment to good puppet theatre.

Card and dominoes games are every Friday evening. Come at 6 p.m. for light refreshments. Games start at 6:45. Door prize winner this week was Donna Bell.

Both boards met Wednesday and t was voted to raise the noon meals to a suggested price of $3 for those over 60 starting July 1. For those under 60, the price will remain $4.25 at the present time.

FSA seeks nominations for county committees

Kirby Payne, executive director of the Daviess County Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced farmer and rancher candidate nominations began June 15 for local FSA county committees.

The nomination period continues through Aug. 1, 2008. Elections take place this fall.
"Farmers and ranchers can nominate themselves or any other producer for a position on the local FSA county committee," Payne said. "FSA county committees have an important role in the decision-making

FSA extends crop reporting deadline

Tim Kelley, executive director of Missouri Farm Service Agency (FSA) has announced that the 2008 final crop reporting deadline for all crops has been extended to August 15, 2008.
