Reunions – Jameson/North Daviess alumni

Sixty-eight alumni and guests attended the Jameson/North Daviess Alumni Banquet on May 26 at 6 p.m. at the high school.

The Class of 1983 sponsored the event. Susan (Franks) Teegarden, Michelle (Smith) Heinse and Sandy (McNeely) Mayfield hosted the event. Welcome was by Susan Teegarden. Invocation was by Sandy Mayfield. The meal was catered by Rains Natural Meats. The memorial was by Michelle Heinse.

Laura Youtsey earns ag honor

Laura Youtsey, 2007 Gallatin R-5 graduate, has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in Agriculture. The Academy recognizes fewer than 10% of all American high school students.

Laura was nominated for this honor by Jamie Rogers, an agriculture advisor at the school. Laura will appear in the academy’s yearbook which is published nationally. Laura is the daughter of Barbara Youtsey, Trenton, and Doug

Daviess County Genealogical Society celebrates third birthday

The Daviess County Genealogical Society will mark its third birthday this year as it continues to serve all of Daviess County with the new and growing resource center.

Daviess County Courthouse News (5-28-08)

 County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that they will be making repairs to culverts and bridges this week.

Bills were audited and paid.

Due to the Monday Memorial Day holiday next week, the commission will meet on Tuesday, May 27.

A trustee for the Village of Altamont met with the commission with questions regarding assistance for culvert replacement. The commission cannot assist with this matter

HDC grads to participate in Lions all-star basketball games

On Saturday, June 7, the Lions District 26-F of Northwest Missouri will host their 17th Annual All-Start Basketball Classic in Bearcat Arena on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

The evening activities begin with the girls game at 5 p.m. and will be followed by the boys contest.

Pattonsburg R-2 Rendition of Oz Revisited goes over well

The Pattonsburg rendition of Oz Revisited was held May 15, 2008, at the Pattonsburg School. The cast members did very well.

The elementary students sang “If I Only Had A Brain,” “The Wicked Witch Is Dead,” and other songs for the play. Sydney Hulett sang “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and Mariah Wood lip-synched “King of the Forest” as the Cowardly Lion. Other cast members included Krista Bell as Dorothy, Michelle
