Ollus Whitt

Funeral services for Ollus Whitt were held Saturday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Interment was at McCrary Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the McCrary Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Ollus Lester Whitt, 95, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the Crestview Home in Bethany.
Mr. Whitt was born March 2, 1913, to Harley and Clara (Place) Whitt near Gallatin. He attended the Cottonwood

Robert Bruner

Funeral services for Robert T. Bruner will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, at the Fremont Presbyterian Church, Fremont, Neb.

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today (Wednesday), with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. tonight at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Neb. Visitation on Thursday at the church will be one hour prior to service. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW

The funeral service for Kathleen Williams will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Kirkley Chapel Church, Ridgeway, under the direction of Polley-Slaughter-Polley Funeral Home, Ridgeway. Inurnment will be private. No visitation is scheduled. Kristina Burton opens New Beginnings Behavioral clinic in Nixa on March 17

New Beginnings Behavioral Health, owned by Gallatin graduate Kristina (Dickson) Burton opened its doors to Nixa and the surrounding communities on March 17.

The clinic offers the complete range of psychological and counseling services for adults, adolescents and children. Its mission is to provide affordable, quality mental health services to those in need.

17th Annual Orphan Train Reunion to be held May 2-3, theme “A Look Into the Past”

The theme of the 17th Annual Missouri Orphan Train Reunion will be held May 2-3, at the Riverside Church, 5401 Mitchell, St. Joseph, “A Look Into The Past.”

More than 200,000 children were sent west, most from the streets of New York City, between 1853 and 1929.
The New York Children’s Aid Society  and the New York Catholic Foundling Home sought to find homes of the children among farm families

Prindles celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Gene and Lois Prindle, 15387 260th St., Gallatin, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 1.

They were married May 1, 1958. Their children are: daughter, Brenda and Gary Bennett; sons, Vincent and Lisa Prindle, Chillicothe, Jack and Kim Prindle, Gilman City, Steve Prindle, Gallatin, and Travis Prindle of the home.
They have nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

GHCAA offices closed

Supplemental program for Women, Infants and Children announces changes in approved food list, effective May 1

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ Bureau of Women’s, Infants and Children (WIC) and Nutrition Services recently announced changes to the WIC Approved Food List.

“The WIC program is making some changes in which nutritious food items are offered,” said Lyn C. Konstant, Ph.D, RD and Chief of WIC and Nutrition Services.
