Jamesport man injured in accident

A Jamesport man received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29.

According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Brian Stark, 38, Jamesport, was northbound on Hwy. 190. He traveled off the east side of the roadway, came back on the roadway, and then traveled off the west side of the roadway. His vehicle then became airborne, vaulted a fence and landed

Pattonsburg water rates raised, starts July, well tests done

During their regular meeting held Wednesday, April 16, the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen voted to raise water rates from $7 to $8 for the minimum, plus 14% for those costs over the minimum, set to start July 1 of this year, if there is no other projected price.

Pattonsburg Clubs – Tree Climbers

The new Family History book committee for Tree Climbers met Wednesday evening.

Work has began on getting the word out to everyone interested in having their family information included. We really want to have it finished by October this year. If you would like help, let us know.

Anna McQuate

Funeral services for Anna McQuate were held at  2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Osborn United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Burial was at Osborn Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Osborn United Methodist Church.

CDS sixth graders graduate from D.A.R.E., essay winners announced

The sixth grade class at CDS Elementary held their D.A.R.E. graduation at Breadeaux Pizza. Gallatin Police Chief Mark Richards announced the essay winners and pizza was served to the group.

The D.A.R.E. program was a 10 week course in which the sixth graders leaned how to say no to drugs and alcohol, and how to deal with peer pressure. The essay winners, pictured, were Melinda Hess, Kaitlyn McNeely and Anthony

Regional Jail chooses contractor for roof repair

Jared Seaton with SRI Contractors discussed roofing repair to the jail’s main building and placed a bid during the regular meeting of the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail meeting held April 25.

Last month Nick Hensley with Hensley Services, LLC discussed his bid with the board. The board accepted SRI Contractors bid as long as references check out.

Roy Hammond

Family visitation for Roy Hammon was held Monday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Graveside services followed at Centenary Cemetery near Gallatin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Centenary Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Roy Hammond, 68, formerly of Gallatin, died April 23, 2008, at his home in Liberty.
Mr. Hammond was born Sept. 21, 1939 to Mark M and Virginia E.
