Herbert Whitt

Funeral services for Herbert Whitt were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the First Christian Church, Gallatin. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church Building Fund.

Herbert Whitt, 89, Gallatin, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Whitt was born Sept.10, 1918, to Harley and Clara (Place) Whitt

Two area accidents, one results in arrest

Robert Anderson, 78, Trenton, received moderate injuries, and two children in a separate vehicle received minor injuries, in an accident on Monday, Nov. 26, on MO. 5, one mile south of Lemons.

The Highway patrol report states that Mr. Anderson was driving a 2005 Buick Lasabre westbound. A 1991 International, driven by Harry Brinkman, 62, Unionville, was northbound and failed to yield at the intersection and struck Mr. Anderson’s vehicle.

New art gallery opens in Jamesport

DeVaul Fine Art & Custom Frame of Jamesport will hold its grand opening between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. New owner Amanda Bohannon will be welcoming the public. She invites everyone to attend to view the gallery and the new inventory. Refreshments will be served.

Ashley Rexing among students at NCMC book fair

North Central Missouri College students planning to participate in an EF Educational Tour to Costa Rica next spring, including Ashley Rexing of Jamesport, are sponsoring a Book Fair at the college in Trenton this week.

The Book Fair will be open from 8 a.m. through 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. through mid-afternoon on Friday this week on the first floor of Geyer Hall.

R-2 FFA Chapter Begins Collections for Adopt-A-Family

Pattonsburg FFA Members are currently collecting food items and small cash donations to assist the Pattonsburg First Responders group in their adopt-a-family program.

On Dec. 7, after school, a committee of FFA members will be going door to door (in old and new town) to collect canned food items and small cash donations for the program.

1,085 shoe boxes received at relay center for the second Operation Christmas Child

For a second year the Pattonsburg First Baptist Church was a Relay Center in a 45 minute radius for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, Franklin Graham, president.

Shoe boxes and plastic shoe box containers were collected not only in this area but we were a part of the world’s largest International Children’s Christmas project.
