Blood drive at PHS

A Community Blood Center blood drive, sponsored by the FFA and NHS will be held at the PHS from 2-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at the cafeteria.

R-2 receives clean audit report

Rita Russell from Westbrook Auditing Firm out of Richmond was present during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education held Wednesday, Sept. 19, to discuss the school’s audit which took place Aug. 7-8. The school received a clean audit with no findings.

Two fires at same site within 27 months

In 1962, a tremendous Gallatin fire caused heavy damage to 12 businesses. More severely, it destroyed the Elbert Hotel and J-K TV shop as well as causing heavy damage to the Gallatin Bowl. Funeral services for William Berry were held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2007 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel, 6600 NE Antioch Rd.

Corban William Harrison Walter

Corban William Harrison Walter, infant son of Trevor and Ramona Boyle Walter of Blue Springs, passed away Sept. 10, 2007, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Corban was born on Aug. 22, 2007.

2007 Golf: GHS golfers look to conference tournament at DCCC

Gallatin varsity golfers finished second on Monday in Albany’s Best Shot Tournament, and came out on top in last Thursday’s three-team meet at Daviess County Country Club.

Kathryn Everly and Sydney Elbert teamed to finish in fourth place with a round of 80 on Monday. Alex Burge and Kelly Critten finished just out of placing with an 88.

Funeral services for Gilbert Burchett were held Tuesday at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.

Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe.
