Recently I’ve had several phone calls about potato plants that had small green “tomatoes” on them. The gardener wanted to know if they could eat them. In short, no, don’t eat them… they’re poisonous. But the tubers are ok to eat.
Potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers are all members of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
While most plants in the
