Judy Horton enjoyed having her youngest grandson Eric Elzea visiting her the past week.
Joyce Macrander and Elaine Carter went to Savannah on June 5 to visit their Aunt Lenora Hibbs. They took dinner and spent the day with her.
Mickie Loxterman, Ed Belshe and Denni Ladd spent last Tuesday with Mary Ladd to help her celebrate her 94th birthday.

Helen Muller

Funeral services for Helen Muller will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin.

Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Lick Fork Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin United Methodist Church, Comfort Care Hospice or the Parkinson Foundation.

Cecil Miller

A private family service for Cecil Miller will be held at a later date. Cremation was completed. Arrangements are by Roberson-Polley Chapel in Albany.

Cecil Otis Miller, 71, Albany, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007.
Mr. Miller retired as a meat cutter after working for various grocery stores.

Carole Wise

Funeral services for Carole Wise were held Saturday, June 23, 2007. 

Carole Barton Wise, age 65, Gravois Mills, was the daughter of Roland and Mae Barton, formerly of Pattonsburg.
She was survived by her husband Lester Wise; mother Mae Barton; two daughters; two step-daughters; one step-son, and her brother, Gary Barton of Reno, Nevada.

Armond Quimby

Memorial services for Armond Quimby were held Tuesday, June 12, at the Little Chapel of the Hills in Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, Calif. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice in her honor.

Armond Quimby, 89, died on June 4, 2007.
Mrs. Quimby was born in Pattonsburg on Nov. 15, 1917.

Smiths celebrate 60th anniversary

George and Lula (Laffey) Smith of Jamesport will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 6.

They were married on that date in 1947 at the Smith family farm southeast of Jamesport.
Their children and their spouses are: Earl and Martha Lockridge of Lincoln, Neb.; John and Janice Rose of Bethany; and Brenda Smith of Norborne.

Emily Michener awarded scholarship from Talent on Parade competition

Emily Michener, graduating senior from The Dance Company in Gallatin, was recently awarded a $500 scholarship from the Talent on Parade National Dance Competition in Des Moines, Iowa.

Talent on Parade, a distinguished convention and regional/national dance competition, chooses one scholarship recipient out of roughly 100 entries. Contestants are asked to write an essay describing how dance/performance has affected and will continue to affect their lives.
