Western students awarded scholastic key at honors convocation

Missouri Western State University awarded 106 students scholastic keys for outstanding academic achievement at the College of Professional Studies Honors Convocation April 15.

To receive the award, freshmen must maintain a 4.0 grade point average, sophomores must maintain a 3.8 grade point average and juniors and seniors must maintain a 3.75 grade point average.

R-3 organizes new board; teacher contracts offered

Election results were presented by Superintendent Julie Kirby and accepted by the North Daviess Board of Education during its regular meeting held Monday, April 16, at Coffey.

The results were: Cecil McCrary: 68; Janelda Weber: 44; David lddings: 58; and Gene Morris: 42.

R-3 FFA and FCCLA Chapter Banquet is May 3

The North Daviess R-3 High School FFA and FCCLA Chapter Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 3. The chapters will honor the accomplishments, hard work and dedication of the members in both vocational organizations.

Opening ceremonies will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served immediately following the opening ceremonies. The awards will be presented at 7 p.m.

R-2 board certifies election results, accepts resignations, hires teacher

Board election results were certified and Jason Teel and Lincoln Cornett were sworn in as board members during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education held Tuesday, April 17.

Officers were elected for the current school year and next school year: Craig Lambert is president; Ben deJong is vice-president; Lincoln Cornett is secretary; and Patty Hartley is treasurer.

Pattonsburg election results certified, city wide clean up set for May 7

Election results were certified during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held Wednesday, April 11.

Lonnie Luke and Dwight Schell were sworn in as aldermen for the 2007-2009 term. Gene Walker verbally stated and the council accepted his resignation as alderman. He was sworn in as mayor.
