Record mild March followed by shift that could leave some growers in the cold

The past month appears to be the third warmest March on record for Missouri and was the warmest March in 61 years.

Yet unseasonably cold air on the way may cause problems for farmers and produce-growers as vegetation is ahead of schedule, said a University of Missouri climatologist.
