Three selected to perform with All-District Choir

Seven students from Gallatin R-5 were among 400 from area schools who participated in an audition for All-District Choir at Missouri Western State University on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Bakers celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Baker of Gallatin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Pat and Carl were married on Sept. 2, 1956, in Maryville.

Carl and Pat have five children, Carla and husband David Arnold; Stan Baker; Tina and husband Doug Kean; Becky Wycoff; and Stacy Baker; and 11 grandchildren. Carl was Superintendent of Schools in Gower, at East Buchanan School Systems and retired from the Gallatin R-V School District.

Funeral services for M. Sue Hardin were held Tuesday at the Bram Funeral Home, Maysville, with burial in the Fairport Cemetery, Fairport. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, Box 350, Maysville, Mo. 64469.

Moneta Sue (Morgan) Hardin, 66, Maysville, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Gene Gear

Funeral services for Gene Gear were held Friday at South Evans Christian Church, east of Tindall. Burial was at South Evans Cemetery. Arrangements were by Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton.

Gene Gear, 92, Trenton, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006.

Born near Coffey, Mr. Gear, and wife, Virginia, farmed in Grundy County.

Other survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Leeper, Tindall, and Barbara Briegel, Lake Lotawana; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and

Mary Shipley

Funeral services for Mary Shipley were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Kansas City Hospice in care of funeral home.

Mary Kathryn Shipley, 74, Pleasant Valley, formerly Jameson, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at her residence.

Mrs. Shipley was born April 2, 1932, to Ray and Elva (Elder) Taylor in Gilman City.

Mildred Sullenger

Funeral services for Mildred Sullenger will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, near Gallatin.

Mildred (Mid) Sullenger, 93, formerly of Gallatin, died today (Wednesday), Sept. 26, at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center.
