Bird leads GHS boys to second victory of golf season

Gallatin’s varsity boys golf team upped their season record to 2-7 on Monday by beating Stanberry, Plattsburg and Winston in a four-team competition held at Daviess County Country Club.

Lillian Morrison

Lillian Lorene Morrison, 98, Altamont, passed away on April 15, 2006, at a healthcare center in Bethany.

Lillian was born Feb. 27, 1908, to William Allen and Lillie Rose (Cobb) Baxter on a farm west of Winston. In 1926, she graduated from Winston High School, where she loved playing basketball, setting the record of 72 points made in one game.
