Golden Cords at Seventh-day Adventist on March 3

On Friday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Golden Cords from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., will present a free program, "The Hands of Jesus," at the Gallatin Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1207 S. Clay St., in Gallatin.

Mary Immaculate’s 1st annual fish fry March 10

Mary Immaculate will hold its first annual fish fry and raffle between 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at the Daviess County Country Club in Gallatin.

Proceeds from the benefit will go toward the Catholic Church’s Building Fund.

Fish, fries, cole slaw, coffee and tea will be served at the fish fry in exchange for your donation. Dessert will be 50 cents and soda will be 50 cents. Raffle tickets

Arnold recognized for volunteerism, service

Jonathan Arnold, 17, Gallatin, a junior at Galaltin R-5 High School, was recently recognized as one of the Distinguished Finalists for 2006 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. The awards program, now in its 11th year, is conducted by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Helen M. Wilson

Helen Marie Wilson, 84, formerly of Jameson, died Friday, Feb. 17, at the Quail Run Health Care Center in Cameron. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Friends called after 11 a.m. on Monday.
