Gallatin’s varsity wrestling squad opens the 2005-06 season at home Thursday against Marceline. Matches begin at 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs, under first-year head coach Phillip Limb, will also host Trenton next Tuesday night. Gallatin’s squad numbers 16 grapplers going into Thursday’s home meet.

Deer hunt totals down in county, statewide

Daviess County hunters bagged 508 less deer this year

Daviess County hunters bagged 508 less deer this year than last as overall harvest numbers declined statewide.

Firearm deer hunters in Daviess County bagged 2,305 whitetails (805 antlered bucks, 368 button bucks and 1,132 does). The 2004 total, according to the MDC website, was 2,813.

Sewer plant delayed until Dec. 13
