Joseph Taylor

Joseph Andrew Taylor, 71, Cameron, died Sept. 22, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services for Joseph Taylor were held Monday at the Poland-Thompson Chapel, Cameron. Burial was at Harlan Cemetery, Cameron. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Taylor was born on Sept. 18, 1934, in Cameron, to John and Blanche (Carter) Taylor.

Now I Know why you can’t fight City Hall…You Can’t fight an Unarmed Opponent (or Snipers)!

After leaving the City Council Meeting Monday night that realization hit me while searching for the words to describe my feelings of frustration and disappointment. Everybody has an answer, but nobody knows the question or everybody has a question, but nobody knows the answer. Are You Confused Yet?

County seeks attorney general opinion on road district

County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that they are continuing the bridge construction in Sheridan Township, with plans to do the concrete work by the end of the week.

David Tolen reported that he had contacted Representative Whorton’s office regarding obtaining an Attorney General’s opinion concerning the establishment of a sub road district and the amount of tax levied. There is a difference of opinion

Circuit Court

Criminal cases filed: State of Missouri vs. David W. Gust, operating motor vehicle without license, class D felony; State vs. Roy M. Johnson, burglary second degree, class C felony, stealing, class A misdemeanor, attempted burglary, class D felony, stealing, class C felony, and two counts of property damage second degree, class B misdemeanors.

Sheriff’s Office

Jimmy E. Easley of Hamilton reported Sept. 21 that three ATVs had been stolen from the basement of his house. Subject(s) gained entry by cutting a fence and removing a padlock.

Robin Shawn Williams, 35, Altamont, was arrested Sept. 23 on a Georgia felony warrant for burglary and numerous traffic offenses. He signed a waiver of extradition and is being held at Midwest Security Housing until returning to Georgia.

Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $2,606.50 for 23 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $1,297.50 for 15 cases.
