Wiley, Selby attend basketball camp

Vince Wiley and Colton Selby attended the Quinn Snyder’s Missouri Basketball Camp July 24-28.

Vince Wiley and Colton Selby, both eighth graders at Gallatin R-5, attended the Quinn Snyder’s Missouri Basketball Camp July 24-28. The boys are pictured with members of the University of Missouri — Mizzou Tigers — basketball team. Vince is the son of Mike and Mitzie Wiley and Colton is the son of Tina and Kurt Esbeck.

Velma Wallace of Gallatin has been awarded a renewal of her center-based Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

Velma Wallace of Gallatin has been awarded a renewal of her center-based Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in recognition of her outstanding work with young children. The credential renewal was awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C., which represents the early childhood profession.

Top team honors in Youth Swine Judging Contest at the State Fair went to the Linn County team which included Kyle Croy of Gallatin

Top team honors for the Senior Division in the 2005 Youth Swine Judging Contest at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia went to the Linn County team which included Kyle Croy of Gallatin. Other team members were Brian Ehrich, Eric Allen and Katie Gladbach.

R-6 board reviews safety survey, sets tax levy

The Winston R-6 Board of Education reviewed a safety survey from the school’s insurance company during their regular meeting

The Winston R-6 Board of Education reviewed a safety survey from the school’s insurance company during their regular meeting held on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The tax rate hearing was held and the levy was set.

Board policy updates were approved.

Elementary enrollment was 116 students and there were 89 students enrolled
