Sheriff’s Department

Shiloh McClelland, 34, Palmyra, was charged on July 21 with a class D felony probation violation for DWI. He is being held at Ray County Correctional Center on $75,000 bond.

Clayton Heiber, 29, Hamilton, was arrested July 21 for probation violations on an original charge of felony stealing. He is being held at Ray County Correctional Center without bond.

Gerald Thomas Franks, 45, Independence, was arrested July 22 for felony

Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $1,458 for 19 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $1,263.50 for 21 cases. Assessed valuation for county increases by 17%

County Commission

County Commission

The clerk reported that the assessed valuation for 2005 for Daviess County is $92,911,832 from $79,382,763, a 17 percent increase. The forms have been submitted to the State Auditor’s Office for the purpose of setting a new levy ceiling.

An amendment to the regional jail agreement was executed.

Chris Nelson, Coffey Fire Protection District, met with the commission regarding equipment and updating information regarding the district.
