Two separate accidents injure four

Two people were seriously injured and a three-year-old child received minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident

Two people were seriously injured and a three-year-old child received minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident at about 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Clarissa Beers, 17, Cameron, was eastbound on Hwy. 6 about two miles east of Altamont in Daviess

County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that the bridge deck had been poured in Sheridan Township. The commission will inspect the site later today.

Kenneth Youtsey, Liberty Township, met with the commission regarding rights-of-way issues. He was advised that this is a township matter.

Kathy Walker won first place in the high school drag races held Sept. 26 at Kansas City International Raceway

Kathy Walker, a senior at Gallatin High School, won first place in the high school drag races held Sept. 26 at Kansas City International Raceway. Kathy reached speeds of 169.55 miles per hour on the 1/4 mile track. She made seven passes down the straightaway to win.

I view the approaching election with a lack of confidence in either candidate. I am truly sorry I have to put such words on paper. Never in my adult life have a dreaded a presidential election to this extent.
