Harry Rice

Harry S. Rice, 96, Maysville, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at a health-care center in Maysville.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) for Harry Rice, formerly of Gallatin, at Grandriver Cemetery in Jameson. Memorials may be made to the Grandriver Cemetery Assoc., or the Daviess County Historical Society.

Judith Eads

Judy (Brown) Eads, 65, Glasgow, died on June 25, 2004, at Colonial Manor.

No public funeral service will be held for Judy Eads, a former resident of Gallatin, as she requested to be cremated and have her ashes scattered among the trees at Tannenbaum Tree Farm near Armstrong, with only family and friends attending.

Forrest Berry

Forrest Eugene “Gene” Berry, 56, St. Joseph, died June 21, 2004.

Funeral services for Forrest Berry, a native of Gallatin, were held Thursday at Poland-Thompson Chapel, Cameron. Burial was at Leavenworth Cemetery. Memorial Fund may be made toward the family expenses.

College students earn honors, graduate semester

Stephen Glenn Brown of Pattonsburg was among more than 1,625 students earning semester honors from Kansas State University for their academic performance during the 2004 spring semester. Students receiving semester honors also receive commendation from their deans, with the honors recorded on their permanent academic records.
