Tornado victims identified

Three deaths occur as a result of a mammoth tornado that hit along the Daviess-Dekalb county line near Weatherby Saturday night, May 29, 2004.

Tornadoes brought death and destruction to Daviess County Saturday evening. Three people died in the mammoth storm, rated as an F4 storm by the National Weather Service which means winds estimated at 260 mph were involved.

Bike-A-Thon raises $850 for St. Jude

Under the direction of Chairman Doug Nichols the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital bike-a-

thon was held May 8.

Under the direction of Chairman Doug Nichols the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital bike-a-thon was held May 8. Beautiful weather allowed 30 students to ride their bikes from 1-3 p.m.

This spring the bike-a-thon raised $850 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help win the battle against childhood diseases.

Gallatin Daughters of the American Revolution; Chapter BQ P.E.O. Sisterhood

Gallatin Daughters of the American Revolution spring 2004 meeting was at the home of Nancy Terry. Vie Regent Beverly Ward began with a poem followed by opening ritual, pledge of allegiance to the flag and the American’s Creed. No minutes were read. Treasurer Fallis Froman

gave a report. There was discussion of changing meeting time to accommodate new members.
