Students, teachers, administrators, and community members enjoyed the Achievement Pep Rally at Searcy Elementary

Students, teachers, administrators, and community members enjoyed the annual Achievement Pep Rally at Covel D. Searcy Elementary School on Friday, March 26. Students are taking the Stanford Achievement test during the week of March 29. The MAP Assessment will be given to the third and fourth grade students during the weeks of April 12 and 19.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical classic “South Pacific” will be presented by the Gallatin Theatre League in three evening performances at Courter Theater on April 1-2-3. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. This musical features such favorites as “Bali Ha’i” and I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair” — as well as the talents of your friends and neighbors…under the spotlight!

Frank Wheeler named Coach of the Year

Frank Wheeler was named the 2004 Richard Fairchild Missouri Basketball Coach of the Year for Class 5A schools.

Twenty-four years ago Frank Wheeler of Jameson played in the Hearnes Center in Columbia on a final four Missouri state basketball team on the very same floor. In March 2004 Frank returned to Columbia to coach a final four basketball team. Last week Frank was named the 2004 Richard Fairchild Missouri Basketball
