Family Daze: February Guilt

It’s almost February. I know this not because of the cold weather, or glut of presidential holidays, or because the idea of wearing short-sleeved shirts seems totally ridiculous. I know this because of the guilt. You see, February is the month when I become an Official Resolution Failure.

Youth found dead in vehicle off highway

Keith Ayres, 16, Winston, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County Coroner

The Missouri State Highway Patrol are continuing their investigation of an injury one-vehicle crash on Hwy. 69, two miles west of Altamont in Daviess County.

Upon arriving at about 9:27 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, troopers observed an undamaged Toyota with the driver in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was off the roadway.

Family escapes flue fire, loses rural residence

The Roy Hazzard family escaped without injury from a fire at their residence

The Roy Hazzard family escaped without injury from a fire at their residence at 30478 230th St., south of Gallatin at about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22.

According to Fire Chief Doug Hamilton, the two-story house had flames coming out the roof around the flue when the Gallatin Fire District arrived at the scene.
