Gallatin R-5 will begin with an additional 37 students for the 2003-2004 school year with an enrollment of 646 total students. Breakdown of students is: 12th – 54; 11th – 58; 10th – 44; 9th – 48; 8th -51; 7th – 61. In elementary there are 44 students in preschool: 6th – 51; 5th – 49; 4th – 47; 3rd – 51; 2nd – 38; 1st -52; kindergarten – 42.

Post Scripts: Manitou Springs

While in the Manitou Springs area, on our recent trip to Colorado, riding the Cog Railway up Pike’s Peak was, of course, a priority. For 100 years passengers have climbed the 14,110 foot mountain in safety and comfort. While we were advised to watch for wildlife headed for the summit, all we saw was an elk herd grazing a mile or so distant – plus three Marmots
