Winston board offers contract renewal to Supt. Burns

The Winston R-6 Board of Education offered a superintendent’s contract to Wendell Burns during their regular meeting held Jan. 16.

Darlene Conover was hired as elementary special education instructor for the 2003-04 school year and the resignation of Mrs. York was accepted, effective at the end of this school year.

The board was notified of the completion of ceiling repair to the art room.

Gallatin Fire responds to structure fire Saturday

Gallatin Fire Protection District responds

Fire Chief Doug Hamilton reported that the Gallatin Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire Saturday night at 108 E. Mill in Gallatin. The call came in at 8:44 p.m. and firefighters were on scene at 8:47 p.m. Firefighters gained control of the blaze within 18 minutes of the first arriving engine.
