Frank and Janis Dunnington hosted a Gage cousin reunion on Sunday, June 23, at their farm home south of Gallatin. This was the first reunion in a long time and first for some cousins. The cousins came early and enjoyed a day of visiting and looking at family scrap books and old pictures, plus taking pictures and eating.

15 area organizations receive funds for 2001

Rural Community Foundation released its’ 2001 Annual Report

The Rural Community Foundation released its’ 2001 Annual Report today. The report highlights the 15 projects receiving support during the past year. Funded projects ranged from a cardiac defibrilator to an after-school math club to new park construction to fairground renovations.

The various school and community betterment projects assisted by the Foundation totaled $12,630. A 50% decrease from the previous year.

Winston school receives RCF grant

Rural Community Foundation has announced the awarding of a $485 grant

The Rural Community Foundation has announced the awarding of a $485 grant to the Winston R-6 school to purchase software to streamline the publishing of their bi-monthly school newsletter, BirdTalk. The award is from the Foundations’ Business & Education Network (BEN).

Students aspiring to be journalists at Winston R-6 use the newsletter to inform district constituents of current happenings.
